This our second visit to the Ngāhere. KIRKS BUSH:

Today we met a lovely lady and her dog. She was showing us how to be gentle with dogs. As we continued our walk Whaea Ngahiwi showed us a Mauku plant. The fronds that grow on this plant are called pikopiko and lovely to eat in a boil up. The ferns are what their Kapa Haka group in Ruatahuna use for their costumes. This was a enjoyable and interesting day.
