Our Class Artwork
This is the artwork we created for the Rosehill Special School gala day. Room 6 invited us to their gala day, so we decided to do some artwork for them to sell. Again we had the pleasure of having Whaea Kim showing us a few tips.
We had the previlage of attending the hikoi in Manukau for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori as a whole school. Each class created a banner. We brainstormed different ideas and we went with a quote.
With the help of Whaea Kim we created our banner on a canvas.
Below are some photo's of our class and our banner.

This our second visit to the Ngāhere. KIRKS BUSH:
Today we met a lovely lady and her dog. She was showing us how to be gentle with dogs. As we continued our walk Whaea Ngahiwi showed us a Mauku plant. The fronds that grow on this plant are called pikopiko and lovely to eat in a boil up. The ferns are what their Kapa Haka group in Ruatahuna use for their costumes. This was a enjoyable and interesting day.
We are learning about different types of plants and trees in our local Ngāhere, Kirks Bush. We had a refreshing and relaxing time. Whaea Ngahiwi named some of the trees and plants to us it was very interesting and we had fun. Looking forward to our next hikoi.
